Lawmakers On Elon Musk’s Call To Prosecute Fauci

Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s call to prosecute National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci has elicited backlash from officials.

Fauci was one of the big voices behind the implementation of lockdown. Something Musk not only acknowledged recently but mocked indirectly with a meme. “one more lockdown, my king,” read the meme he shared, which showed caricature of both President Biden and Fauci.

But the real “grenade” and one that had the official screaming for his head was when he tweeted that his pronouns are Prosecute/ Fauci. In a follow-up tweet, he averred tauntingly, “Truth resonates.” His initial tweet was liked over 1.2 million times, which translates to almost 10 percent of his 121 million Twitter followers.

Where it appeared like the public was firmly behind his verdict, Washington, DC was totally unimpressed.

Rep. Dean Phillips was unapologetically mordant in his tweet response to the Twitter boss, noting that Fauci had likely saved more human lives than any living person in the world.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar had similar views when she tweeted that she is a big fan of Fauci, who had calmly guided the United States through a crisis.
