The list of artistes to perform at this year’s South Africa Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) has just been announced.
It has been a week-long season of expectancy after the nominations were released. Many across South Africa are particularly keen to know who would walk away with the Artist of the Decade award.
It’s easily the most prestigious category of the awards this year, and some of the biggest names in the hip hop scene have been nominated for it, including YoungstaCPT, Cassper Nyovest, and A-Reece.
But who will be performing when the winners will be announced this Friday. A recent post by Rashid Okay, one of the executives of the awards, has given some clues to curious fans.
According to Rashid, among others, Blxckie, Big Zulu, A-Reece, Emtee and Faith k will be performing at the award. And for those who fear that there might not be transparency in the awards, Rashid tried to allay their fears.
He insisted that background checks will e done on the judges so that there’s no conflict of interest. He ended up describing the SAHHA as the most transparent award in the world.
