LL Cool J Goes Viral With Video Deprecating Racism In The US

James Smith, who goes by the stage name LL Cool J, has gone viral with a powerful video deprecating racism and police brutality in America.

The video was shared on Instagram page two days ago and recorded over 1.6 million views. In the video, which has a duration of almost three minutes, the American rapper and actor addresses several issues plaguing the black community.

Racism had a chunk of the bars. Police brutality against blacks had a spot in the lyrics as well. LL Cool J also gave the listener his personal experiences growing up black in the United States. Really, as should be apparent from the lyrics, nothing has changed. The situation may have worsened even.

And the looting that followed the protests in the streets? The songster boldly courted controversy when he rapped: Molotov cocktails, anarchy on the set / The rich took the loot so now we loot sh*t! /. What’s going on here? Is he endorsing the larcenous odyssey of his compatriots? Your guess is as good as wine.

The video is compelling. Really, it should surprise no one it went viral. What are your thoughts on the video and LL Cool J’s message?
