Major League, Black Coffee, Others Pay Tribute To Virgil Abloh

After a long battle with cancer, American designer Virgil Abloh gave up the ghost. It would have been just another death, one of many ordinary stats, except that Virgil was a celebrated figure who made a name in the world of global fashion.

Expectedly, condolences have been coming in torrents. Among those who have recalled times with the designer and mourned him are Black Coffee, easily the most visible international DJ from South Africa, and the amapiano duo Major League DJz.

In a post to his Instagram page, Black Coffee had shared a picture of their encounter during which the American had called him a living icon. They looked so happy together.

In the caption, Black Coffee had thanked him for all he did for his generation while expressing the hoping of meeting Virgil again in the hereafter.

For their part, Major League noted they had spoken to him the other day and he said he was okay. And then, just like that, he’s vanished from the material plane. A sad, crying and heartbroken emojis conveyed the grief of the Mbere brothers (who make up Major League DJz)
