Makwa Accuses Nota Of Trying To Steal Royalties From His Production

Music producer Makwa may have implied music executive (and someone else) may have attempted to cream off his royalties by adding their names to his work in which they made no contributions.

In a recent tweet, Makwa had urged producers out there to always check out the South African Musical Rights Organization (SAMRO) website, as it is not out of place for people add something to it and chest then out of their money.

He referenced Kid X’s “Mtan Omuntu” song, for example. The said song, which was released in 2018, had Shwi Nomtekhala and Makwa as guests. But in the screenshot Makwa took, two “strange” names had appeared on the SAMRO website as being part of the song: Nota and Tendai.

He couldn’t explain the mystery, so he asked others to be careful and to always check their works on the SAMRO site to ensure they are not being cheated out of their royalties. You can check out the images he shared, below.
