According to a publication by Daily Sun, Gumede’s passing away was confirmed by Mampintsha’s sister. The family has not publicly announced Zamanguni Gumede’s cause of her death.
Gumede passed away at 64 on Sunday, 15 January 2023, at Wentworth Hospital. This after the bereaved mother buried her superstar child, Big Nuz member Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, in December. Mampintsha suffered a stroke before his death. Fans and fellow celebrities have expressed their condolences to the family during this difficult time. Many of late Mampintsha’s fans and colleagues have taken to social media to offer their support. “Sending love and strength to you and your family,” one fan commented on Twitter. “May she rest in peace,” wrote another. 
Mampintsha, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, rose to fame in the early 2000s as part of the kwaito music group Big Nuz. He later launched his solo career and has since released several albums and collaborated with numerous other artists in the South African music industry. His death was a big loss to the music industry.
