Mandoza and Gloria Bosman Will Receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at SAMAs

Music icons Mandoza and Gloria Bosman are among four recipients of the Lifetime Achievement awards at the SAMAs this year.

Four music icons have been announced by the SAMAs to receive lifetime achievement awards at the ceremony this year. Mandoza and Gloria Bosman are among them. According to the Recording Industry of South Africa, the music icons have continued to inspire many long after their deaths.

They wrote that Gloria “challenged stereotypes with vocal power and timing, leaving an indelible mark on the South African jazz scene.” Other recipients include Pop Mohamed and Ihhashi Elimhlophe.

Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO of the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), also congratulated the recipients. Sibisi stated that the awards symbolise a celebration of excellence and called it a tribute to these artists’ remarkable contributions to the local music industry.

“We are thrilled to honour the recipients of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 29th Samas. These awards symbolise a celebration of excellence and a tribute to these artists’ remarkable contributions to our music industry.”

“With great excitement and pride, we present these awards to truly deserving recipients, recognising their enduring impact and global recognition.”

According to IOL, he also said they “resembled master architects meticulously crafting the blueprint of artistry and song, towering over the industry as beacons of inspiration.”
