Kwaito veteran Mapaputsi popped on Mzansi trends again following an interview he granted to Podcast and Chill with MacG.
Said to be one of the originators of the kwaito sound, Mapaputsi confused most viewers of the Podcast with his lingo and gave them so much to laugh and talk about.
In the interview, he appeared uninterested in answering some of the questions he asked–or not sharing what viewers would understand.
Reacting to the interview, one tweeter had noted that it was laden with tsotsi lingo and just not for everyone.

Despite the confusion about how Mapaputsi spoke during the interview, some notable figures on South Africa’s music scene, including MoFaya’s DJ Sbu, commented that the interview was a success and that Mapaputsi did just fine.

It might appear like Mapaputsi is not particularly active on the music scene right now, but the kwaito has made it clear multiple times that he isn’t retiring from music. In fact, in a recent interview, he said fans should look forward to a new album from him soon.
