Maskandi Artist Zithulela “Majotha” Zungu Is dead. He was aged 39 years.
According to his manager Mzwandile Zungu, Majotha was admitted to King Edwards Hospital on Monday night but passed away days later, on Friday 7 May. He was reportedly suffering from an illness which was not disclosed.
Detailing how Majotha died, Mzwandile stated that when he last spoke with the maskandi star, Majotha said nothing about any illness. On Tuesday, however, he received a call stating that Majotha had taken ill, was vomiting and had to be rushed to Polly Clinic. From there he was transferred to King Edwards, where he died.
The news of Majotha’s passing shocked many in South Africa’s maskandi universe as many were unaware he was ill in the fist place. Messages of condolences have been pouring in following news of his passing.
Among those who have expressed their thoughts over Majotha’s passing are maskandi notable Igcokama Elisha and Thokozani Langa. Langa, who had worked with Majotha previously, stated that the muso’s death left him empty and the maskandi community “shattered.”
