Master KG Beats Burna & Rema To Clinch 2020 MTV EMAs

South Africa’s Master KG has been declared the winner of the MTV EMAs in the Best African Act category.

Master KG was nominated in that category alongside fellow South Africans DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small and the Nigerians Burna Boy and Rema of Mavin Records.

The win is especially significant for thr Limpopo artistes in that it is his first big international win.

Back home, earlier this year, the songster, who had captured the attention of the world with his “Jerusalema” song with Nomcebo, failed to secure a nomination from the country’s SAMA (South Africa Music Awards).

The snubbing of the “Jerusalema” hit in the SAMA nominations provoked outrage among many in South Africa, who described the song as the biggest in South Africa this year.

At it is now, Master KG may have been compensated handsomely by winning something far bigger. The excited singer shared the news of his win with his followers on Instagram, provoking a wave of congratulations from fans other South African musicians. By the way, it is Master KG’s first MTV EMA win
