It is quite the dream to see one’s designs rocked by a global figure, Now imagine that the global figure is none other than a former First Lady of the United States. Now, that’s the ultimate triumph for many a designer.
On this note, it is easy to understand how MaXhosa founder Laduma Ngxokolo felt when he found that Michelle Obama rocked his design.
In a post on her official X account, the former First Lady of the United States could be seen in a standing position, rocking a colourful dress. In the caption to the post, she spoke about her initiative.
Well, Laduma saw the post online and shared it, noting in his comment that the gown Mrs Obama wore was part of one of his collections. He registered surprise at how far the dress had gone.
He didn’t imagine that part of that collection would travel far and wide and ultimately end up on Michelle Obama. Of course, for many a designer, that is the ultimate triumph. You can check out the post below.
This dress is from our @MaXhosaAfrica ‘ALKEBULAN’ SS23 collection, never thought it would go this far 🥹🙌🏿💫 https://t.co/jgcmn701wd

It should be clear, though, that this is not exactly the first time that the former first lady would rock a print by Laduma.
