Morgan Freeman Reacts After Russia Ban

Morgan Freeman might be the name, but this American isn’t free to visit Russia. He’s one of the Americans who have been banned from visiting the Eastern European country.

Last week, the Kremlin released a list of 963 people barred from coming to the European country. And the celebrated actor’s name was right in there. The Kremlin noted the actor had, in 2017, recorded a video in which he accused the Kremlin of conspiring against the United States.

Freeman claimed that Russia had initiated cyberwarfare against the United States.

The ban against Freeman has elicited condemnations from around the world. But Freeman is unbothered. He even considers it an honour to be banned.

With his ban, Morgan Freeman joins a list of other famous Americans, including former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, President Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris.

Interestingly, one important name is missing from that list: Donald Trump. The immediate past president of the United States is known to be a Putin supporter and has never hidden that.

Former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama were also excluded from the list.

According to some analysts, there wouldn’t be any changes to that list until Putin leaves power – and that wouldn’t be anytime soon.
