Expectations are pretty high in Mzansi as MTV Base South Africa is about to crown – or rather unveil – the hottest MCs this year. The Rainbow Nation will have a list of 10, counting from 1.
But who will make the list? MTV has been a tease about the, stating in a recent post that the panel will deliberate who and would take the spots in the Hottest MCs list.
It’d be interesting to see who and who would make the list at the end of the day. Last year, a little “revolution” happened when Focalistic, who had been crowned hottest MC, ditched hip hop for amapiano. Stating he had not received the support he expected for winning the scudetto.
Will a similar drama play out? We’ll be here to bring you new development regarding changes in that direction.
Since it started the list has been able to bring some fine voices to the spotlight – artistes who may not have had great visibility otherwise. It has also sparked controversies, with members of the public stating some people who merit the list are never included in it.
