Mzansi Agog For The Carling Knockout As Chiefs Host AmaZulu

There is palpable excitement in South Africa’s football universe with the return of the League Cup after four years in the cold, this time in the form of Carling Knockout. Kaizer Chiefs will be facing AmaZulu later this week in the championship.

Eight teams were seeded but Chiefs would be facing AmaZulu, with the winner going home with a cool cheque of R6.6m. Both teams are slated to battle it out on the pitch tomorrow, Saturday 21 October. It wouldn’t be their first meeting on the pitch, however.

Both teams had previously met in August this year at the DStv Premiership. In that game, the Chiefs, also called Amakhosi, beat their rivals 3 goals to nil. Of course, their having won that game does not mean that they would snag similar numbers in the upcoming match.

Anything can happen in the match on Saturday. But at the moment, public opinion tilts towards Amalhposi to beat their rivals once again. After all, the Chiefs had won the cup previously – prior to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

For those who might want to watch the match live, there is a chance to do so as tickets are currently available online at Tickets Pro
