Mzansi shares mixed reactions as Bonang Matheba is announced as the host of the forthcoming Miss South Africa 2024.
Her name is Bonang Matheba, and she rules. Queen B has been one of the most talked-about celebs this year. She continues to chase the bag despite all the criticism she’s gotten.
According to Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, Bonang is set to host this year’s Miss South Africa pageant.
He wrote, “Bonang to host Miss South Africa 2024. The inimitable Ms Matheba … trust, few have tried but (real talk) she is one for a generation … will return as the host of the Miss South Africa pageant ceremony. The show will air on S3 in August 2024.”
However, the news was not well received by everyone. While Bonang’s fans celebrated it, some felt it was high time the organisers tried someone different. This would make the fourth time B is hosting Miss South Africa. She hosted in 2023 and pulled in over one million viewers.
She also reportedly wore a dress that cost over R60k. Bonang also hosted the event in 2018 and 2019. She always gets massive praise for her delivery.
A fan, marwalep wrote, “She must host it until these others decide to step up. She is on a level of her own.”
Miss_Godi also replied, “There’s only one Bonang!”
