Mzansi Reacts As Big Zulu Performs At EFF Rally

The ruling African National Congress (ANC) was the subject of ridicule on South Africa’s social media recently after famous rapper Big Zulu performed at the rally of rival party EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters).

As far as most Mzansi peeps were concerned, the ANC cannot afford the Inkabi Records boss, and he had had to perform for the EFF instead. The EFF celebrated the muso’s performance by sharing several pictures on Twitter, seemingly taunting rival parties.

The comments throbbed with those hailing the choice of Big Zulu for the rally, and others laughing at RIVAL parties. See snaps below.

By the way, Big Zulu is one of the notable voices in South African hip-hop. He recently released a body of work titled “Ichwane Lenyoka,” which detailed his upbringing, love, parenting, and several other themes.

He was one of the musicians who ruled the airwaves last year. His “Mali Eningi” song earned him several song of the year nominations. And although he’s yet to best that track, he retains his place among the leading hip-hop figures.

The details of his performance – including what he must have been paid – are not out there. But it must have been something he was okay with.
