South African actor Sello Maake KaNcube gound himself the bitt of jokes following an honorary doctorate he received from an obscure institution.
Sello was honoured with an honorary PhD by the Trinity International Bible University. Also honoured were Elizabeth Serunye and Winnie Mashaba. Taking to his X account, he had celebrated the win.
From what he wrote, it was clear that the award was a big deal to him. He was beyond pleased to have been thus honoured. The thing is, most of his compatriots looked at the degree with mordant grins and cackles.
They see the institution that awarded him the degree as dodgy, similar to the one that honoured another South African celebrity, Shauwn Mkhize, not too long ago. Anyway, you can check out Sello Maake’s post below.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2

While he continues to luxuriate in the euphoria of his PhD award, South Africa’s minister of education, Blade Nzimande, pointed out that the institution that conferred him with an honorary PhD is not registered and therefore cannot possibly confer him with the degree. See the post below.
Winnie Mashaba, Elizabeth Serunye and Sello Maake kaNcube have all received honorary doctorate from the alleged bogus University, Trinity International Bible University.

Well, Sello Maake doesn’t appear to care about the negative opinions of him getting the degree. Whether that will change is left to time.
