South African hip hop disc jockey DJ Dimplez is one man whose death shook the Rainbow Nation. Since then, the Rainbow Nation has been remembering him the way it sees fit, from time to time.
The musician died on 6 March 2022 of a brain haemorrhage. So, March of the same day this year makes it exactly two years since he left the earthly plane. On that day, 6 March this year, many of his compatriots poured into social media to remember him.
Some expressed their sadness that he should die at the time he did – so young at the age of 40. Some pointed out the hip hop scene has not remained the same since he died.

If nothing else, the messages of remembrance point to the impact that the musicians made before his death. He is missed because he was a familiar contributor to the entertainment universe in South Africa and already has a humming legacy.
