“Jerusalema” star Master KG might just be on his way to becoming one of the richest musicians in South Africa, thanks to the success of his song mentioned earlier.
The South Africa Musical Rights Organization (SAMRO) recently entered a deal with the video-sharing platform Tik Tok that would enable South African musicians and composers earn royalties for their work shared on the platform.
With the deal in place, Master KG, whose “Jerusalema” song has been streamed over one billion times on the platform, is set to become one of the biggest beneficiaries.
Apart from Tik Tok, the song is also doing well on other platforms, including YouTube, where it has been streamed over 300 million times.
“Jerusalema,” a collaborative work with Nomcebo, is Master KG’s biggest hit to date and has received great love from some global figures, including Christiano Ronaldo. Even the South African Government has endorsed the song.
Although master KG has released a remix of the song and even shared an album of the same title, neither has bestedd the numbers of the original “Jerusalema.” At the moment, Master KG is said to be working on another remix of the song, with a gospel artiste. Well, what do you think?
