Nomcebo, Zakes Bantwini and Wouter Kellerman Have Won Their Grammy Awards

Mzansi stars Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini, and Wouter Kellerman have won their first Grammy Awards.

It is another year for Mzansi to rejoice. Last year, renowned South African DJ Black Coffee won his first Grammy award for the album “Subconsciously.” This year, three more South Africans have snagged their own Grammy Awards.

On Sunday night, Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini, and Wouter Kellerman won the Grammy for “Best Global Music Performance” with their collaboration “Bayethe.” They beat out Burna Boy’s “Last Last,” “Udhero Na” by Arooj Aftab & Anoushka Shankar, “Gimme Love” by Matt B & Eddy Kenzo, and “Neva Bow Down” and Rocky Dawuni featuring Blvk H3ro.

Accepting the award, Nomcebo said, “Thank you so much to God. You know, I once gave the world a song that took the world by a storm… but I didn’t get this nomination or this award, but God was saying to me, ‘don’t worry, my daughter, I’ll give you Bayethe.'”
