The family’s story could leave a lot of people despondent. It’s a sad tale that shows that life can take great steeps and people can lose it all along the way – suddenly.
The story begins with Patrick Shai, a veteran and respected actor in South Africa’s film universe until the latter part of his career, when he appeared to have lost it. He insulted Cassper Nyovest and his parents, challenging the “Doc Shebeleza” chanter to a boxing match.
It was an assault from unexpected quarters to which Cassper responded, but not in the same pugnacious tradition Shai displayed. Anyway, trolled for insulting Cassper, Shai seemingly lost his mind and hung himself, throwing the fil industry in mourning.
Sad, for the Shai family, the tragedy isn’t over yet, as the lateactor’s son Sechaba is said to be battling his own demons, from homelessness to substance abuse.
His battle with substance abuse didn’t start today, however, he has been battling that for a while, He reportedly received but recently suffered a relapse.
A report by Zimoja indicated that Sechaba is aware of his challenges nd has sought for help from the public to beat his addictions. If and when help will come is unclear at the moment.
