Red Bull Unveils 64 Bars Featuring Blxckie And Others

After embracing “150 Bars” from Big Zulu, Mzansi steps back a bit and eats “64 Bars” from Red Bull. That joke aside, there’s something charming from the Red orbit, as you’d find out presently.

Red Bull’s support for South African music has never been in doubt, so the latest foray is nothing surprising. One still recalls the partnership with Nasty C and his Tall Racks Records that led to “Lift As You Rise.”

We’ve passed that era, all right. But Red Bull is very much still in the business and is pushing Mzansi music as we know it. So the latest foray with “64 Bars” is a pleasure to the ears.

The Red Bull 64 Bars is a global project which has berthed in South Africa. As a platform, it will bring together several notable names in South African hip hop who’d spill their bars in the spirit of the initiative.

Already, Mzansi rap prince Blxckie has  been unveiled as recorded for the show. The platform also shared the lyrics of the song on its website for the benefit of those who might not be able to follow the sound.

In the intervening days, in the same tradition, other artists will spit their bars as well. It’s 74  ars, after all.
