“Rhythm City” actress Kealeboga Masango has reportedly scored a new role in Showmax’s new drama series “Youngins.”

It is all about work for popular actress Kealeboga Masango, who continues to make her fans proud. She earned acclaim for her performance in the hit series “Rhythm City.” She has since continued to bag new roles.

She has reportedly been cast in Showmax’s first teen series. Masango will play Buhle, “a firebrand and the “it” girl at school.”

Speaking about the new series, Executive producer Phathu Makwarela said it’s the first time Tshedza Pictures has told a story that focuses on the lives of young people, Gen Zs. He said,

“Tshedza Pictures always approaches each show with a desire to make it different. We have never produced a youth drama before, and we took great consideration in creating a writers’ room that reflects the audience that we are talking to.”

“The series is a window into the lives of Generation Z viewers that much of society is struggling to keep up with, as the world around them is rapidly changing by the day.”

According to him, growing up, shows like “Party of Five” and “Dawson’s Creek” shaped his teenage years.

“Over the years, television became focused on all-family viewing and saw a decline in youth dramas. ‘Youngins’ is our response to the generation that is coming of age and needs content that speaks to them authentically,” he said.

The show premieres of 12 February, 2024 on Showmax.
