Rich Mnisi Presents Second Instalment Of “Homeland Collection” With Adidas

Earlier this year, celebrated fashion designer Rich Mnisi launched what he called his Homeland Collection, which glorified not only his Tsonga roots but also the African continent — a place of place and a place to be committed to.

Back then, he had the likes of Siya Kolisi, Ama Qamata, Shekhinah, Sarah Langa and Thickleeyonce, among others, to showcase his designs.

Well, months later, Rich Mnisi is back with the second instalment of that collection. This time, though, he had new models for his train, including Lindiwe Dim, Lisa Fumagalli and Noma Mokoni.

The models showcased athleisurewear — athletic and leisurewear — which, like the first instalment, celebrates the designer’s Tsonga heritage and African influences.

On the theme of the designs, Rich Mnisi noted that it was a symbol of returning oneself to the ancestral ground she rests on, the continent of our birth and the home of humanity.

Rich Mnisi is one of the few South African fashion designers who have managed to break into the international scene. Now his clothes are worn across the Rainbow Nation. By celebs and ordinary folk alike, as well as internationally. His collaboration with Adidas was a significant milestone for him. Mzansi has been celebrating him since.
