RJ Benjamin calls on all radio stations to play only South African music during the nationwide lockdown.
With the proposed lockdown starting, everyone in SA will be restricted to the confines of their homes for a total of 21 days. While this may seem like a huge punishment to many, it is needful to slow down and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus all over Mzansi.
The lockdown was announced by the president a little while ago. Vocal coach and singer, RJ Benjamin proposed a really good idea that will help all the artistes in Mzansi during this time. The talented muso took to his social media to call on SA radio stations to play only songs by local artistes.
We think this is actually a great idea and will help artistes to become known by the people. At least many artistes can benefit from the royalties that would come from that and the promotion.

I’d like to call on all SA radio stations to play strictly local artists during this lockdown. Not just the “BIG” artists but the artists who have created quality material and still didn’t get playlisted. SA artists need your help beyond this difficult period and you have the ability to provide some form of royalty income for artists when Covid-19 subsides. By doing this you will also be showing solidarity with your fellow South Africans. Please share far and wide. #proudlysouthafrican #proudlysouthafrican🇿🇦 #covid19southafrica #southafricanmusic #southafricanmusician #independentartist
