The local music scene has suffered another loss as Sammy Moripe, known as Pencil, one half of the Bacardi duo Pencil & Zing Master has died. The cause of his death is not yet clear, but reactions have been pouring in on social media.

The account tweeted, “Another Bacardi artist has passed on Rest in Peace to Sammy ‘Pencil’ Moripe from the Bacardi duo – Pencil & Zingmaster. We send our deepest condolences to the Moripe family. This a huge loss to the township of Atteridgeville and PTA townships.”
Sammy Moripe’s death follows the passing of another Bacardi artist, Vusi Ma R5, who was shot dead in Soshanguve earlier this year. Fans of Pencil and Zing Master have expressed their grief and paid tribute to the musician on social media.
