SAPS Recruiting 5000 Entry Level Police Trainees – Here’s How To Apply

If you dream of joining the South African Police Service (SAPS), here’s your chance to make it happen. The security body is looking to take in 5000 new police trainees this year.

The body had announced a new intake while encouraging physically fit, intelligent and energetic young men and women of every race to apply for the Basic Police Development Learning Programme (BPDLP).

The PDLP will last for 21 months, covering three phases: the induction phase, the basic training phase, and the probation phase.

The induction phase will last one month at a designated police station. The basic training phase will last eight months at an established SAPS Academy. It will also incorporate practical training at designated police stations.

On successfully completing the induction and basic training phases, candidates will serve in the services for a probationary period of one year.

Throughout the training, the service will take care of the training gear, meals and accommodation and medical needs of the candidates.

To apply, candidates should download the application form from the service’s official website (https://www.saps.gov.za/careers/downloads/Application_Form_Police_Trainee.pdf).

Only South African citizens with at least a Senior Certificate/National Certificate (Vocational-Safety in Society) are eligible to apply.

The application closes on June 30, 2022.

Your call, peeps.
