Sentenced to Basetsana & Romeo Kumalo Saga: Jackie Phamotse Celebrates Sentencing – See Details

In a move that left her relieved, a court has sentenced Jackie Phamotse to 2 Years of house arrest. This means that for the next two years, she cannot leave her house, except expressly permitted by the court.

The genesis of her conviction was her defamation battle with former beauty queen Basetsana Kumalo and her husband Romeo, both of whom alleged that she defamed them

Besides her sentence to two years of house arrest, she 2as also handed unpaid community service. Jackie’s case with the Kumalo has dragged on since 2018. Now that a verdict has been reached and a sentencing handed, she appeared relieved.

Speaking after the verdict was handed down, the controversial author expressed her light, indicating that she now has her life back with the verdict, and that’s despite the fact that for the next two years, she will be under house arrest.

While it might appear like she lost the case given the verdict, she was actually unbowed, as seen from part of what she said after the verdict: “Through this legal battle, I have reclaimed my voice and thwarted attempts to rewrite the narrative of my life and the legacy I’ve built in this country.”

Beyond that, she will be holding a three-day celebration of the verdict and what she says is the restoration of her life after years of legal battles.
