Sexual Assault Case Against DJ Fresh & Euphonik Reopened by the NPA

It appears like it is not yet uhuru for DJ Fresh and DH Euphonik after the rape case against both of them was dropped last year. Report reaching us is that South Africa’s national prosecuting authority (NPA) has decided to reopen the case against them.

In early 2021, a lady had tweeted that DJ Fresh and Euphonik drugged and rape her and her friend in 2011. At the time, the lady had claimed that she was a virgin.

Both DJs denied the rape claims and instituted a countersuit against the lady claiming damages. The case against both DJs was thrown out a month after, with the NPA citing insufficient evidence to carry out the prosecution.

At the time, NPA North Gauteng spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana had noted that a decision not to prosecute was taken as there was no prospect of a successful prosecution based on available evidence.

Brenda Madumise-Pajibo, legal rep of the alleged rape victim, confirmed that the case has been reopened but admitted she has no clue why the NPA has decided to reopen the case.

By the way, when the case against the two DJs was initially dismissed, they had celebrated it with a statement. In other news, DJ Fresh and his wife have just separated, while Euphonik’s first life has left because he’s taking a third wife.
