Shauwn Mkhize has reacted to the abuse allegations against his son Andile Mpisane, noting in a statement that there are two sides to a story and that she doesn’t condone violence.
Days ago, the Mzansi was stunned when Sithelo Shozi, a Durban-based DJ, claimed during an Instagram conversation with her fans that her former boyfriend Andile Mpisane was abusive to her in their relationship, had battered her up and even threatened her life.
She shared screenshots of their conversations, as well as voice notes and an image of her bruised lips.
Shauwn Mkhize reacted to the claims in an official statement on her Instagram. According to her, she only became aware of Sithelo Shozi’s claims via social media. She noted that she’s a victim of abuse himself and doesn’t condone that in any form.
On Sithelo Shozi’s claim that her family was there when Andile assaulted her at some point, Shauwn Mkhize stated there was never a time that happened.
She admitted the severity of the allegations against her son and also noted that the issue had been referred to their lawyer for appropriate action. She also insisted it would be the last statement from her regarding the allegations.
It remains to be seen where the case will head in the coming days.
