South African socialite and businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize has found herself in the middle of a new dram, with claims that she has yet to pay the Royal AM ladies team their December and January salaries.
Now, that’s one big piece of news and something that’s bound to snag the attention of the public, especially as the socialite is known for her love of opulence and for flaunting the same on social media.
Sources within the team claim that there is growing discontent and players are threatening a strike if their dues aren’t paid by the club management.
Sunday World, quoting sources with the team, claimed that some players are currently threatening to boycott the team, and some have indicated their interest in returning to teams from where they moved to the Royal AM ladies.
At the time of writing, Shauwn Mkhize had not addressed the claims about the club not having paid the ladies since last December. But given the weight of the prevailing allegations, it’s only a matter of time before the club puts out a statement as it did previously when rumours circulated that the club is facing financial difficulties and that the businesswoman is looking for buyers.
