The Scorpion King DJ Maphorisa has got a big piece of advice for house DJs, but some of them are not having it.
In a recent social media post, the celebrated DJ had asked house music disc jockeys to join the amapiano movement, which he’s currently in the vanguard of.
The reactions to his call were instant and mixed. Shimza, a notable disc jockey and producer, made it clear that not all musicians would do the same as interests and dreams are markedly different.
He encouraged DJ Maphorisa to continue doing his thing, that he’ll always support him as a creative.
On his part, Heavy K, also called Drum Boss, in reference to his compilations of the same title, was more receptive to DJ Maphorisa’s call. In fact, he made it clear he had transitioned from house to amapiano while out on a gig. He even shared a clip of the video on Twitter, which you can check out below.

By the way, this isn’t the first time Lawd Porry had called on other musos to make the switch to amapiano. He had done that previously – with mixed reactions.
