South African media personality Somizi and other celebs have thrown their weight behind Shamiso Mosaka in her battle with CemAir.
Shamiso, a media personality herself, claimed that she was racially profiled on a flight from Durban to Johannesburg and forced to disembark from her plane.
But what actually went down? By her own account, she used the f-word while speaking to someone (not any airport plane staff) over the phone. A cabin crew urged her not to use vulgar language.
Shamiso for her part noted that she didn’t use any vulgar language and saw no reason why the flight attendant should treat her without courtesy.
Things degenerated from there and she was urged to leave the plane, She was adamant she wouldn’t leave, as she had paid for the flight.
Interestingly, the airline painted a different picture of the situation, noting that a passenger – yes, it failed/ refused to name Shamiso – had become unruly, disobeying the instructions of a cabin crew member. You can check out its statement below.
From the reactions so far, however, it appears like most South Africans are towing the path of the media personality, supporting her in her battle against the airline. And that includes Somizi.
