For many South Africans who are focused on the beauty world, though, of great interest is the feud between Carol Bouwer and Botha. Both of them are associated with the Miss World SA.
The beauty pageant should not be confused with the Miss World pageant, which has contestants from all around the world. This one is focused on South Africa only.
Despite the narrowness of the entry point – the provenance of the ladies eligible to compete on the platform, it has not stopped Botha and Bouwer from having a war of sorts.
The details of the feud and what truly provoked it are debatable. It is claimed that Botha, who once served as Miss World SA vice-president, used a racial slur at some point.
