“The Braai Show” With Cassper Nyovest Yet to Beat AKA’s 2.8 Million Views Record

The Braai Show is currently in its second with Cassper Nyovest as host. But the numbers show that the season is yet to best that set by the previous host, AKA, in terms of viewership.

Media commentator Phil Mphela recently noted that the highest number of viewers the show has been able to garner in its second season is 2.2 million, nowhere near the 2.8 million AKA had pulled in the first installment of the show.

While admitting the stat he gave was just for September, he admitted that October might pull a surprise. In other words, Cassper Nyovest might yet beat AKA’s view count. It’s less than two weeks to the end of October, though. See his tweet below.

AKA, who hosted the first season of the show, and Cassper Nyovest are not friends. In fact, they are the biggest rivals in South African hip hop. AKA had earlier filed an interdict stopping SABC from airing the show, claiming he owns a 50 percent stake in the company and was not consulted before Cassper Nyovest was picked as the host for the second season.

He has since withdrawn the interdict but the legal battle continues, according to him. But for how long? Stay tuned
