Tyla Passes 28 million Spotify Monthly Listeners

Mzansi rejoices as “Water” star Tyla surpasses 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Tyla has been counting blessings for months now. The famous singer and songwriter has dominated every space since her song “Water” blew up. Aided by the “Water Challenge” on TikTok, the song grew in popularity and made it into charts around the world.

Tyla also scored massive streams on Spotify. According to new reports, she has become the first African female singer to surpass 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify. She is also the first South African to hit this milestone. Indeed, there is no stopping her.

Tyla’s debut on The Jimmy Fallon Show earned her massive credits and praise from far and near. Over the past week, she released the “Water Remix” featuring American rapper Travis Scott and another with Marshmello.

Tyla has also bagged several certifications for her hit. The song went Silver in the UK for pushing over 200,000 units, Gold in Australia for 35,000 units, and Gold in New Zealand for 15,000 units.

It has also peaked at number one in New Zealand and Suriname, #4 in the UK, #5 in Greece and South Africa, and #6 in Australia, Ireland, and The Netherlands. It recently hit #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Shout out to her.
