Ukhozi FM has suspended members of its Breakfast Show team.
Mzansi did not see this one coming. Yesterday, listeners of Ukhozi FM’s Vuka Africa Breakfast Show were surprised when they did not hear the voices of their faves on the show. Instead, the show was anchored by Siya Mhlongo and co-hosted by Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi.
According to a statement released by the station, host Sipho “DJ Sgqemeza” Mbatha and two show producers were suspended pending an unexplained investigation. They did not share any details as to why they were suspended.
Instead, the statement read, “Management will not discuss this matter further as it is an employer-employee relationship governed by this corporation’s policies.” They have, however, ensured the show’s continuity by announcing Siya Mhlongo as a stand-in host and Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi as co-host. They revealed that Mroza, who was originally a part of the show was not affected by the suspension.
