She may not have won the BET Awards in the Best International aaaAct category for which she was nominated alongside her compatriot K.O. and Nigeria’s Burna Boy, but Uncle Waffles is more than happy to have been nominated and the role her team played in it all.
She was at the Microsoft Theatre alongside other nominees for the award. Although the Nigerian singer Burna Boy eventually walked home with the award, Uncle Waffles was grateful for the experience all the same and she made that known in a post on her official Instagram page.
Her post was of a clip that showed her sashaying down the pink carpet – yes, it wasn’t a red carpet. Lol. In the caption to the post, she noted that it was a true blessing getting to be a part of the BET Awards event. She was also grateful to her team and expressed her love for them. Uncle Waffles’ nomination was a big deal to her because she is just a newbie on the music scene but has made a big impact already.
