Video: BTS Hits 5th Billion-View Milestone With “IDOL”

Korean boy band BTS, which comprises the pals Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook, has many songs and videos out there, but some of these songs stand out more than others.

One such music idol is “Idol.” Early yesterday, April 3, when they performed at the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, the streaming stats for their “Idol” video popped at 1.1 billion views.

It is the group’s fifth song to reach the billion-plus views mark, after “DNA,” “Boy With Luv,” “Dynamite,” and “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix).”

The world might be seriously connected at the moment, a global village, but that in no way means it’s easy to get a billion views for a music video. In fact, very rarely do musicians make a billion views mark. The French disc jockey Guetta is one of those who have managed to reach that mark.

Interesting, about the latest milestone, BTS is yet to say anything. The group is still consumed by the spirit of their Grammy performance, and their last Instagram post at the time of writing mirrors the same.

BTS had wowed many when it perfectly photographed its second English language single, “Butter,” at the Grammy Awards yesterday, Sunday, April 3. Fans can’t get over it.
