True friendship reveals itself, especially in times of crisis. And South Africans got to see a sterling example during AKA’smemorial on Friday.
Thando Mokoena, a daughter to SPOuth African media personality Pearl Thusi, snagged attention when she was photographed going out of her way to console Kairo Owethu Forbes, AKA’s daughter with DJ Zinhle.
Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle were best of friends and their daughters had the best relationships together. Although along the line, a conflict had reportedly erupted between the “Uzobuya” singer and Pearl, both never let it affect their daughters’ relationship.
At least this much was evident during the memorial service when the older Thando reached out to Kairo and comforted her in her grief. Kairo could be seen nodding as Thando spoke comforting words to her. You can check out the clip below.

The clip of the kids hugging and then Thando sharing comforting words with Kairo charmed many South Africans, who trooped to the comment section to share their thoughts about it all.
AKA, the man in whose memory everyone had gathered, was shot at point-blank range soon after he came out of the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. While an investigation into his death is ongoing, South Africans have been propounding theories as to who must have ordered the hit.
