It is no longer news that amapiano is now the in-thing in South Africa. From a genre that many were fearful of committing because they thoughts it was a passing fad, it has become the go-to genre for many in the Rainbow Nation.
Not surprisingly, the genre has already gone international, with several global media outlets covering it and the champions of the genre. One of such outlets is the BBC, which recently put together an amapiano feast for lovers of piano music.
A feast? A musical feast, yes. And that’s in the sense that it has several notable voices on it, from Young Stunna to Sha Sha, Daliwonga, Mas Musiq, DBN Gogo, and Kamo Mphela – and we’re still counting.
If you’re a keen follower of South African music – amapiano in particular – then you probably already know that the musicians mentioned above are among the buzzing voices in the genre. But it goes beyond big names here, as you will find out presently.
The singers featured actually did a splendid job spitting their verses. The result is a mix that will delight any lover of good music out there. Still, it’s important not to forget that “This Is Amapiano.” Lol.
