Zakwe Might Be Quitting Vernacular Rap

Zakwe might be quitting vernac rap to focus on rhyming in English

Zakwe hints on quitting vernacular rap to rhyme in English just to sell more records.

Well, if you spent over 10 years in the music industry without a Gold status, you’d probably do the same. Mzansi rapper, Zakwe is popular for delivering his bars in Zulu, and he has amassed a number of fans with that.

However, it seems not to be enough for the KwaZulu-Natal based rapper to achieve an Gold status. According to new reports by SAHipHopMag, the Mzansi emcee has hinted on ditching Zulu rap to rhyme more in English. Of course, that would be interesting to hear.

We hear he is currently working on his forthcoming album and is looking to do things differently. The album will be a followup to “Cebisa” which birthed the hit single “Sebentini” featuring Cassper Nyovest. He had revealed that he desperately wanted the album to go Gold. Hopefully, this works out for him.
