In an Instagram video which has since been deleted, the songstress noted that she would no longer be taking part in the biopic. However, she clarified that her decision had nothing to do with haters and those who said she couldn’t play the role or wasn’t black enough.
Instead, according to her, the decision was based on a lack of production value. She also commented about trying to reach the Aaliyah family in the hope of getting their approval.
