Zikhona Sodlaka, Connie Ferguson, Others Nominated For The National Film & TV Awards

The good times continue for celebrated actresses Thuso Mbedu, Zikhona Sodlaka, Ama  Qamata and a couple of others who have just been nominated for the National Film & TV Awards.

The National Film Academy recently launched the National Film & Television Awards in South Africa, raising expectations in the country’s creative space on what might follow. Well, people didn’t have to wait long, as the body has announced nominations, with several key figure figures on it.

The National Film Academy has a 25-year history and reaches into several countries around the world, with millions of members to boot. Its recent nomination list has left many South Africans smiling and looking forward to their idols going home with one category of the award or the other.

The nomination list has pretty famous and important names, including Thuso Mbedu, who has made a name for herself in Holywood and has even worked as a model. Ama Qamata herself has got similar stripes.

While  Zikona Sodlaka herself might not necessarily be an international actress. She is a standout figure on the local film scene. On her part, Connie is one of the top figures on the local scene, doubling as both an actress and a producer. She runs the Ferguson Films following the death of her husband two years ago.
