He is not a religious nut and certainly not on a proselytising mission. Still, South African musician Sfarzo Rtee managed to capture attention with a new body of work entitled “The New Testament” EP.
This dance compilation of six songs plays for precisely 35 minutes. length wouldn’t matter much by the time you begin your listening journey.
The point is, from the very first song in the compilation, “Ngisenkingeni,” you know that you are in for a good time with the project. The feeling is the same right to the end of the project.
Given the length of the EP, it’s only common sense that the songster should co-opt just a few musicians. Well, he settled for the coal resources of Reed, Mzizi, Soul Jam, Nanette, and Jay Sax.
While it is unclear why he picked those he worked with, we doubt anyone would have a quarrel with his choice.
“The New Testa, ment” EP is worth the playtime, so go check it out.
