Anele Mdoda Stands Up For Zahara Against Critics

Anele Mdoda, a popular media personality, stood up for the 36-year-old award-winning musician Bulelwa Mkutukana, also known as Zahara, who passed away on Monday night.

This week, during her Tuesday, December 12 broadcast, the 947-radio personality, Anele disclosed that Zahara’s career had suffered from theft and that a couple of persons had siphoned money from her.

“People abused her, they took money from her. You know who you are I’m not gonna mention any names, I don’t want any lawsuits. All you did was take everything away from that girl, funny enough you couldn’t take her talent,” Anele stated.

Before now, according to TshisaLIVE, the Loliwe singer had expressed concern for her measly compensation under the TS Records, owned by Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza and Sibusiso Leope, also known as DJ Sbu.

Tributes to Zahara are still coming in, as her passing has left a significant void in the South African music scene. Among the several celebrities lamenting the loss of the “Loliwe” singer is media personality, .Somizi.

He lamented that Zahara was not honored throughout her lifetime.  On Monday, Zahara passed away “surrounded by family and loved ones” in a hospital in Johannesburg, at age 36.

Online, her family was showered with love and support from fans. Somizi, though, questioned why he and other people respect death rather than life.

Over the years, Zahara’s private life has garnered media attention. According to reports, she nearly lost her house as a result of money problems, and some people circulated footage of her performances that did not present her in the best of light.
