Bakkie Accident On The N14 Claims Lives of Baby, Two Others

No one wants to die on the eve of a celebration. but the morbid reality is that, most times, death has other ideas. And people perish around when they should be celebrating. This reality played out again recently when a baby and two others were killed in an overloaded bakkie accident on the N14.

According to multiple reports, 16 people were in the bakkie which was involved in the horrific crash. While several of them sustained injuries, about three people were reported dead, including a baby.

On the fatal crash, the Gauteng traffic police gave some details, noting that the driver of the bakkie had lost control after one of its cars popped out. When the vehicle careening through the road eventually stopped, several of its occupants were bloodied with injuries while others lay dead.

The spokesperson for the Gauteng traffic police, Obed Sibasa, noted that the accident caused major delays on the road. he also noted that overloading was partly responsible for the accident. He urged motorists to avoid the route of the accident even as the traffic police tries to restore normalcy on the road.

In this festive season, authorities have been warning motorists to be careful on the roads and stick to extant traffic. But then, life happens.
