Veteran rapper K.O has dismissed claims that he wrote the lyrics for DJ Maphorisa’s hit song “Izolo.”
A blog – not us – had claimed in a recent report that the Skhanda World boss had not only written the lyrics for “Izolo” but had taught Phori how to flow as well.
Reacting to the claim, the “Lucky Star” of South African music had dropped a cap emoji while noting that Maphorisa and others are crushing the game on their own terms – without him writing their lyrics. You can check out the tweet below.
For his candor and for being quick to clarify things, fans had commended K.O., who recently released a collaborative album with other members signed to his record label.
K.O has been in the industry for more than a decade and he’s justly respected for his contributions to the culture. He was formerly part of the hip hop group Teargas but went solo after the group split.
The years have passed by K.O remains musically relevant. In fact, just recently, media personality Sizwe Dhlomo had described him as the most consistent South African rapper. If you should ask us, well, yes, he deserves the tag he got from Sizwe Dhlomo.
