Chicco Twala Reacts To His Assault Case Getting Postponed for the 13th Time

Music mogul Chicco Twala has reacted to his assault case getting postponed for the 13th time by the Randburg Magistrate’s court.

Chicco Twala was arrested in May 2022 for allegedly assaulting two City Power employees whom he mistook for cable thieves. He was released on R2 000 bail. He has been in court since. Twala’s case was postponed for the 13th time today.

According to Zimoja, it was postponed to February 16 for the prosecution to assess the health condition of the state’s witness. Twala’s lawyer, Lesley Sedibe, asked the court to strike the case off the roll because of the state witness’s failure to appear.

The state prosecutor in the matter said to the court that the witness had no medical records to confirm claims that he had an eye infection, injury, or an eye operation. Speaking to Zimoja about the postponement, Twala said he has to pay a lawyer every time he appears in court, which costs him a lot of money.

“The next appearance is next month, and I know nothing will be discussed except to strike this case off the roll.” The state witness is expected to explain to the court why he required three months for his reported eye infection to heal when he appears next month.
