Clip Of Maskandi Singers Marching To Honour Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Provokes Debate

He was large in life and even larger in death. So it was not surprising that a group of singers were prepared to break protocol to honour the late Inkatha Freedom Party leader, Pincer Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

The revered statesman passed away recently, leaving the Rainbow Nation in mourning. Members of the public have been honouring him the way they saw fit ever since.

Allegedly, members of the late prince’s family had asked members of the public not to come to the late prince’s home due to customary practices. However, in a video currently making the rounds online, a group of maskandi singers broke protocol to honour the late prince.

The group, which comprises notable figures, including Khazani Mpungose, marched to the late prince’s home to show their respects. Their action elicited praise from a section of X. The musicians themselves didn’t care whatever should happen following their visit. You can check out the clip below.

The debate continues on why the family should deny the public a visit to a man who was part of the anti-apartheid struggle for decades until the abolition of the practices in the early 1990s. Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi died on September 9 and will be buried shortly.
